About The Volunteer Family: Testimonials

What others have had to say about The Volunteer Family

"Many people and their families are interested in volunteering but do not know where to start. I first became involved with The Volunteer Family when I was looking for ways to strengthen the bonds in my own family;which consists of me, my husband, and my teenage cousin to whom I am legal guardian. Raising my 15 year old cousin is challenging, especially since we are only 11 years apart in age. Volunteering together really helps us bond as a family while learning many life lessons at the same time."

- Jessica Cassady Davis, Volunteer

"The Volunteer family makes it so easy for us to recruit volunteers. We just let them know when we need help, and they send some terrific families over who are willing to provide their time and assistance. It is a fabulous organization and I would highly recommend them to nonprofit organizations searching for additional help"

 - Barbara Clark, Director of Cradles to Crayons

"TVF continues to be a tremendous advantage to the community and other organizations. They are accommodating to all the diverse facets of the non-profit world. They are a committed and competent organization. The accessible and vibrant staff is commendable for the continuing dedication to the community. They are highly regarded among local nonprofit organizations."

 - Victor Coker, Program director, Momentum

"Citizens Bank is a proud sponsor of The Volunteer Family. Volunteerism is very much part of Citizens' commitment to the communities where we live and work and we are happy to be a part of their activities."

- Andy Phillips, Vice President/Director of Community Sponsorships for Citizens Bank

"The Volunteer Family is dedicated to helping local nonprofit organizations serve the Massachusetts community by encouraging, facilitating, coordinating and supporting family volunteering activities. Massachusetts is blessed with thousands of individuals of good will and good works who play significant roles in affecting positive change in the lives of others through volunteerism. Family volunteers should be commended for their philanthropy, and encouraged to sustain growth in partnership with government as together we seek to enhance the quality of life for all citizens"

 - Mitt Romney, Governor of Massachusetts from his proclamation on family volunteering
November 19th, 2005

"You provide such a valuable service for so many. Keep up the good work!"

"Volunteering with my family was a great experience. We often donate to food drives, but this gave the children a better understanding of where the food goes, and the number of people who benefit from this service! they were surprised when (the Volunteer Coordinator) told them 400 bags would  go out for Thanksgiving. It was a "hands on experience" and appropriate for all ages. It's also fun to explore other towns and see other neighborhoods. The kids were upbeat and happy when we were done...they definitely felt the joy that comes from giving.
Thanks for this opportunity."
